Fréttir 24/7 is an independent news and explainer website published by Skjásýn ehf. in Iceland. The site is run by a single editor. There is no newsroom or research team.

What we publish

We write news summaries and explainers about Iceland and the wider world, covering politics, business, technology, sport and nature. The aim is to be informative and educational. Articles list the public sources they draw on.

How we work

The editor chooses the topics, checks them against the public sources linked in each article, and edits every piece before it is published. AI tools help with drafting, translation and illustration, and illustrations made with AI are always labelled. The editor is responsible for everything published on the site.
